When most people hear the word fat or the word fatty foods, they instantly think that this is something that is bad for them. It is likely to be a tasty treat but the nutritional value in it may be quite low. This is why many people look to avoid fatty foods to be on the safe side but this is not always the best approach. There is a need for people to work out the good fats and bad fats. Keeping good fats, like polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats in their life is a sensible idea while removing bad fats such as saturated fats or trans fats are a very good idea. There are some facts that you want to have in your diet and these include:

Eggs

Eggs are very affordable, which means that most people will be able to add them to their shopping list without breaking the bank. Eggs are also considered to be a very good source of protein so if you are keen to add some good protein to your diet; this is a quick and easy way to do so. There is some fat in an egg yolk, which is why many people think that egg whites are the better option but the yolk offers some good nutrients as well. Eating eggs in moderation can provide you with a lot of goodness without placing your health at risk.

Nuts

Let’s face it; if it is good enough for a wide variety of animals, it isn’t going to be that bad for you. Nuts such as walnuts, almonds or pistachios are all fatty nuts but in a good way. They provide you with a range of benefits. Almonds are known for providing vitamin E, walnuts are a great source of omega 3 and pistachios can play a great role in keeping your eyes bright and alert. Medical research has uncovered the fact that people who regularly eat nuts are generally thinner and at a lower level of risk of diabetes and heart disease. Adding nuts to your diet ensures you can have a tasty snack that won’t bump up your weight.

Fish that are high in fat

The idea of eating a fatty fish isn’t the tastiest idea but fish that are high in oil such as tuna, trout, mackerel and sardines are packed full of good fats. This means that you can boost your heart by getting a great source of omega 3 into your diet. The vast majority of nutritionists recommend eating this style of fish a couple of times a week.

Avocados

It is fair to say that an avocado is high in fat but it is high in monounsaturated fat, which is one of the better fats to have in your daily diet. Eating avocados can play a role in lowering your cholesterol level, which should be considered as a positive thing and the US government has actually recommended that more citizens add avocado to their diet.
